Senior Technologist Telecommunications Infrastructure
A new position, empowered with direct input into the future design and function of this strategic element, will join this small but highly charged team.
What does this mean? In a nut shell this role will assist with the network development, capacity management and operation of the Council\'s ducts and optic fibre cables. Council owns significant telecommunications assets in Queensland. These include ducts and cables for traffic signalling and control, traffic cameras and counters, security cameras, internal Information Communications Technology (ICT) to depots, offices and libraries, cooperation with other authorities and carriers, and for broadband initiatives.
As a qualified candidate you will have a solid foundation of relevant experience as you will be called on to:
- work with Council\'s traffic, ICT, security and economic development stakeholders
- work closely with infrastructure managers, other authorities and carriers
- review and maintain Council\'s standards and practices for duct and fibre
- undertake audits, data collection and recording
- be involved with higher level network development and conceptual design
- undertake network planning and capacity planning and management
- assist in the preparation of annual budgets for maintenance and reconfiguration.
