The Office of Clean Energy has an exciting opportunity for a professional who can lead in the development and implementation of policy, progr ams and regulatory frameworks aligned with Queensland Government priorities.
 
The Office of Clean Energy is the Queensland Government’s lead agency for developing world-class initiatives in renewable energy, demand side management and energy efficiency. Our key priority is to accelerate the deployment of clean energy technologies and infrastructure.
 
The Office of Clean Energy is part of the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI). Through its activities the Office of Clean Energy supports DEEDI in developing a globally competitive, sustainable Queensland Economy.
Engaging with industry and governments in an independent and transparent manner, the Director, Clean Energy Partnerships, will identify strategies for the sustained growth of clean energy technologies in Queensland, and deliver advice on these strategies to the Queensland Government.
 
You will be involved in representing the Queensland Government in discussions with industry and government to identify opportunities for projects and technology development and gather feedback for government policy and decision making processes. Working with energy industry proponents and government to assist in, or advise on development and implementation of projects by negotiating funding support, identifying and communicating with partners and stakeholders and providing relevant and timely advice.
 
To be successful in this role, you will be a dynamic and highly motivated individual with experience at a senior level in industry and/or Government. Strategic knowledge and a strong understanding of the renewable energy industry at the state, a national and international level is highly desirable. You will have the capacity to deal with high level managers and industry leaders on complex issues relating to the Queensland renewable energy market.
 
Your success in the role will rely on your ability to manage and develop a team of professional officers and work within the Office of Clean Energy’s management team.
 
You will manage complex negotiations, being direct and diplomatic in order to settle differences in position and opinion, in order to win concessions while maintaining effective working relationships. You will also have the ability to blend people into high performing teams and remain calm in high pressure situations to make effective decisions based on analysis, experience and judgement.
