Customer Service Manager

  • "Bridging the gap" - customers/delivery/production/supply
  • Technical products involving precision machining
  • Successful growing business - south-western suburbs

Having successfully grown from a small production facility machining and assembling components, this company now comprises four business units selling a range of specialised items and manufactured sub-assemblies to industrial customers and resellers. Employing over 50 staff and operating from two manufacturing sites, a new facility and head office in Brisbane and Melbourne, the company regularly deals with a wide variety of customers on a weekly basis. Most products are market leaders in their particular segments. The business is continually growing through expansion of the customer base and new product lines the company is looking to acquire.

This broad role will be responsible for “bridging the gap” between supply of specialised raw material from overseas, production – often involving precision machining and assembly of components – and delivery. As well as managing three direct reports in the customer service area, this role will directly handle some major customer orders and enquiries, processing orders and managing the customer service function via regular meetings with all stakeholders. The opportunity exists to instil a culture of ‘urgency with customer care’ and bring process improvements and efficiencies around this area of the business.

Experience in a service-orientated customer role is important. An understanding of production processes and techniques will aid your integration into this pivotal, high impact position. Your ability to influence other stakeholders in the business and gain buy in is essential. Providing outstanding and timely customer-orientated solutions and service will give you job satisfaction, as well as the opportunity to grow and develop yourself and your team inside this dynamic business.
